The main events building up to this final chapter is showcased in the opening cinematic of Gears of War 3. Introducing a new threat to the Gears universe is the Lambert. When the launch of Gears of War 3 arises on 20th September 2011, players will be entitled to the first four pieces of DLC, via a season pass. With a season pass you'll be making a saving of 33 percent as opposed to buying DLC separately. The season pass will be purchasable for 2400 Microsoft points, on the day of Gears 3's release.

The creators of Resident Evil and No More Heroes collaborate once again, delivering their most ambitious title yet; Shadows of the Damned. Players step into the shoes of Garcia Hotspur, a demon hunter who's girlfriend (Paula) is kidnapped by Fleming (King of the underworld/hell). On a rescue mission to save Paula, Garcia must dismantle the underworld in search of Flemings Castle.

By his side at all times is a former demon named Johnson, who can transform, into a pistol, shotgun, machine gun and torch. Those who played Resident Evil 4 or 5 will be familiar, with the games third person over the shoulder shooting mechanics.
As you tread along the underworld the background music entails you to walk slowly, pondering what's around the corner. Credit goes to legendary video game composer Akira Yamaoka, known for creating Silent Hill's score. Shadows of the Damned feeds off 70/80s horror, giving an intentional b movie vibe. Inspiration for the sound and general theme of the game, derives from Quentin Tarantino's work ethics.

What differentiates this game from others, is the gameplay mechanic known as the darkness. Once you enter it your health depletes and Garcia must  shoot a mounted goats head, to escape darkness. This latest trailer running on PC, showcases a town named Wellspring and interaction with the locals. The beginning shows what could be a mini game of five finger fillet in a bar. After a little walk the protagonist responds to an alarming sound. The commotion leads to the well, infested with bandits attempting to tamper with the water supply. 

Here we get a taste of the arsenal of weapons in the game, every weapon has an alternative firing mode's and ammo. The crossbow can fire electric, mind control and sticky bomb bolts. The pistol shoots out normal rounds and alternatively fire's like a machine gun. Shotguns fire out buckshot rounds or rockets and you can even punch people with a spiked glove. A rather unique weapon always at your side is a boomerang called the wingstick, used simultaneously with any weapon.

It would seem you can only carry four weapons at a time, whether or not your inventory slot is expandable is yet to be seen. Great news IO Interactive has announced that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days has gone gold and one week ahead of schedule.  The release date is now scheduled for August 17th, 2010 in North America and August 20th throughout Europe and other PAL territories*, on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
