Alan Wake- Building a Thriller New Trailer

The unbelievably awesome looking Alan Wake has now been given yet another new release date, but before any Wake waiters among you begin panicking, you'll be pleased to hear that this is actually a move sooner rather than later, unlike the game's numerous other reschedules which went prior to this one. So instead of the original release date of May 21, Wake will now be hitting UK shelves on May 14, which means a week’s less torment for those desperately awaiting the game. This is indeed exciting news, and it is the result of Remedy finally completing the game, popping open a celebratory champagne bottle after an extremely long and difficult production phase. What's more, Remedy has just put out a new trailer to further whet our appetites for what's now to come sooner than we were anticipating.

This trailer just points out some of the key features which will make Alan Wake as good (or even better) a thriller as any movie, television series or book, while making us more and more eager to get our hands on the great looking game. For those still unsure as to whether or not they are interested in this exclusive to Xbox 360 game, Alan Wake tells the story of a best-selling author struggling with writer’s block, who visits the seemingly idealistic town of Bright Falls with his beloved wife for a stress free break. When his wife disappears and the two worlds of nightmare and reality begin to integrate as dark beings begin to stalk Wake, however, he forgets all about the idea of relaxing and sets to work saving his wife, using light and tact as weapons against these dark forces. On top of all this, Wake discovers that the goings on are all related to a book he once wrote but doesn’t recall writing, and so he spends his time scouring the town for scattered pages of his forgotten manuscript. It is this strong story and all the fun, strategical action and exploration which Alan Wake is to be packed with which has drawn many gamers to count down the days until its now sooner release.

The trailer looks at the now familiar light weapon mechanic in a bit more detail, as well as pointing out how even simple things surrounding Wake can also become life savers or enders, depending on who’s in control of them. In addition, the trailer looks at how the solid story is a vital thing in the game’s proceedings, aided by quality music and good cut scenes. So enjoy the trailer and happily knock Wake's place on your calendar a week sooner to May 14. If you want to make sure you get the game ASAP, pre-ordering might be a good idea if you haven’t done this already, and don’t forget to consider buying the only slightly pricier Special Limited Edition of the game, which throws in a  handful of cool extra things to help you sink even deeper into the immersive world of Alan Wake.
