Game Modes

The 80's phenomenon Michael Biehn, best known for his role in The Terminator and Aliens, provides his voice for Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The direction of this game is the complete opposite of Far Cry 3 and focuses on personifying 80's action films in one game. Michael Biehn's voice adds a stereotypical likeness of a solider seen in films in that era that fans will enjoy. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is a standalone game and doesn't require Far Cry 3 to play. Get to the chopper when Blood Dragon is released on 1st May 2013 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Rockstar introduces us to the three protagonists of Grand Theft Auto V. Michael is a former gangster who was moved to Los Santos under witness protection and given a lot of cash. However money doesn't bring him happiness and wants to get back in the criminal game.
Franklin lives in a dangerous neighbourhood and wants to be more than a gangbanger. In his trailer we get a glimpse at the return of the Grove Street and Ballas gang from GTA San Andreas.
Trevor is the more eccentric protagonist out of the bunch and is a drug dealer by profession. Eagle eyed fans will be glad to know that The Lost MC from GTA IV, are making a return and seem to have a problem with Trevor.

Dishonored is fairly open world in its level design and features multiple ways to complete missions. Players truly have the freedom to choose their own adventure as the supernatural assassin; Corvo. In this latest interactive trailer we are given a sample of a level in Dishonored, with the choice to watch the playthrough as you see fit.
Will you sneak your way to the target, use distractions or go in guns blazing? There are multiple ways to tackle the level and you can check out every single one. Dunwall is the setting of the game and the protagonist has been framed for the Empress's murder. To seek revenge he is forced to become an assassin and dish out justice.
Arkane Studios could be on to one of the best games this generation. Be the first to experience Dishonored when it's released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on 12th October 2012.
Dishonored allows players to play the game in multiple ways using various game mechanics. The stealthy approach to missions would be to use distractions and lean around corners, to avoid being seen. AI is very aware of your movement and will be alerted to footsteps, should you decide to run in their vicinity.
Corvo's arsenal of weapons includes a blade, pistol and crossbows, all of which can be used simultaneously. The same goes for his powers and when there chained together you can expect devastating effects.
New IP is always a challenge and a rare development at triple a studios but Arkane Studio's have taken the plunge to create Dishonored; a super natural assassin game set in steampunk Dunwall. The protagonist Corvo Attano, can stop time, teleport the environment, posses the body of humans or animals and send his enemies flying with the wind.
Dishonored has a strong focus on gameplay tailored towards all play styles. If stealth is your forte then missions can be approached as such and head on combat is also possible. You don't even have to kill your targets to complete objectives and could perhaps lock them away instead.
Levels are seemingly open world with diverse level design, allowing players to tackle missions as they please. The art direction has a steampunk meets Victorian London feel to it and compliments the overall game.
Get a closer look at the design with the behind the scenes documentaries below:
From the people to the landscapes, Pandora is not the wasteland you remember. Handsome Jack and his corporation have taken over the land and aren't prepared to let four vault hunters shoot and loot. Fans will be pleased to know our original four protagonists return in the sequel for the narrative.
Borderlands 2 is the sequel to 2009's stylized shooter with role playing elements. The sequel features a bazillion guns, unique environments, new missions, enemies and protagonists to choose from.
The campaign can be played solo or cooperatively with four friends online. An all new skill tree has been tailored towards the four new characters with a new interface. Gearbox software have been listening to the fans and provided a variety of graphics options for the PC version of the game. PC owners with the highest to low spec will be content to know they can configure Borderlands 2 to their setup.
Borderlands 2 will be available on 21st September 2012 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Check out our preview right here.
High Moon Studio's have created the best Transformers game in recent history and provided fantastic fan service. Fall of Cybertron is the true experience fans have been asking for taking inspiration from the lore of the cartoon, rather than Michael Bay's cinema adaptation. Following the events of the last game the Autobots want to leave Cybertron but the Decepticons would rather destroy them.
Every mission focuses on a different character and is tailored towards their abilities in terms of level design. This ensures a varied experience with environments constantly changing and little room for a dull moment. During Optimus Prime's level you have the ability to call mortar strikes (or Metroplex for assistance) when your pinned down. Giving the player control of strikes makes you feel powerful and gives you an idea of the battles scale. Other levels have characters who can zipline and another that transforms into a dinosaur breathing out fire.
The horseman known as Death is the protagonist in this epic adventure, voyaging to prove his brothers (War) innocence. In the first game War was accused of prematurely starting the apocalypse, resulting in a wipe-out of humanity. Death is certain there are other forces at hand here and War has been framed.
Darksiders II is an open world, third person, hack and slash adventure with RPG (role playing game) features. The map is split up into many areas containing dungeons to explore. You can travel on foot or by horse and attack enemies while riding. There's an assortment of enemies you'll find inhabiting the world, who all drop loot.
This is an exciting feature of the game, which always keeps you guessing and feels highly rewarding. Loot dropped from reoccurring enemies usually ranges from reasonably damaging swords, currency and clothing for Death. By clothing I mean boots and armour for different parts of the body. The exceptionally ravishing loot is always found in chests and dropped after boss fights.
Speaking of boss fights did I mention how big they are? The height differentiation definitely makes you feel small but once you find their weakness you feel like an unstoppable force. Especially when Death transforms into his reaper form for the final kill.

In this latest video the all new skill games in FIFA 13 is being demonstrated. This is a great way to introduce the full potential of skills and learn how to execute them against your friends. It also adds depth to the game and becomes a fun mini game that you'll play for hours.
The main focus of the mode is to show players the fundamentals of the game. This is an absent feature in past instalments and a welcome one for FIFA 13. Performing the challenges correctly in this mode rewards you with a ranking and points.

Team up with four friends and cooperatively take down the man, squeezing the life out of Pandora; Handsome Jack. Borderlands 2 has a wealth of content with a campaign weighing in at 58 hours and four character classes to play as. Following the launch of the game, four campaign packs (DLC) are scheduled to release over the course of the year and 2013.
Borderlands 2 is out for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on 21st September 2012.
EA Canada never fails to raise the bar with every instalment. FIFA 13 revitalises possession for the ball, to ensure players take a more tactical approach to matches. Defensive pressure and decisive passes are the main factors of this year's game.
Ai will be more challenging this time and capitalise on poor passes. They also have a better sense of their surroundings, to notice an opening in defence and outsmart your teammates. Players now have more control and freedom when it comes to dribbling. Precise controls can initiate a shielded position to hold off defenders.
Ultimate team makes a return and fans will be pleased to know that returning players will be rewarded. This year's career mode transfers have been overhauled to provide counter offers, adding depth to the mode and Ai.
The game that popularized shoot and loot is back, bigger and better than ever. Borderlands 2 has a bazillion procedurally built weapons, guaranteeing no one will have the same gun. They can be traded with friends in four player co-op or local/online split screen.
Pandora is the fictional setting of the game and has changed since the events of the first title. The environment stretches far beyond sand and dirt, with the likes of icy and toxic landscapes to explore. The barren wasteland is under the reign of Handsome Jack, who is driving Pandora in to the ground and eliminating Bandits.
Sergeant James Heller is one angry super soldier, mourning his families death due to the Blacklight Virus (AKA Mercer Virus). The virus has spread across New York and it's been 2 years since the last event. With a blaze of fury against Alex Mercer, his beloveds passing will be avenged at any cost.
Right from the get go you can run up buildings and glide across the city like a flying squirrel. NYZ has been split into three zones, each one being progressively worse. The scale of each zone is reasonably large and mainly differentiated by environment effects or destroyed buildings.
Radical Entertainment has perfectly captured the feeling of being invincible. Heller is literally immortal compared to the inhabitants of NYZ, bullets and missiles barely scratch his jacket. Especially when you start upgrading his abilities, strength and health with experience points. Upgrades are frequent and measured by experience points, which are easily obtained after any skirmish.
This is a great way to reward players for their efforts and progressively get stronger. It's not long though, before your path of destruction becomes effortless and the challenge is minimal. Nonetheless your abilities are far too entertaining to get bored.
Sleeping Dogs was originally going to be named True Crime: Hong Kong, but to a change in development and a handover in the rights to the game, Sleeping Dogs was made, thanks to the efforts of Square Enix and United Front Games.
The demo itself is brilliant. Most of us have watched snippets of gameplay from other companies but mainly from the gaming conventions such as E3. In the demo you need to chase down a rival triad member Ming through a beautifully designed Hong Kong alleyway. This is the perfect way of showing off the free running element this game proudly possesses. After being caught by the HK police and sharing that you’re an undercover cop, you are thrown into a warehouse, where you are to infiltrate and capture a man behind an attack on the triad leaders family. There are a lot of chances to show off the combat in this game, you are able to use the environment; this includes a furnace, roof vents, boxes full of glass and so many other objects around you to completely destroy your opponent. Using the counter feature I felt like I was playing Assassins Creed, simply because the combat is so well put together. I thoroughly enjoy playing the demo, I would recommend you play it before you buy the game because the character movement didn’t feel as warm as I would have liked. But the game itself is the perfect combination of Saints Row and GTA. Exactly what sandbox fans have been waiting for. 4/5 stars overall for the demo alone.
